Old Westbury, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team picked up its third straight victory and fifth triumph in its last six games with a 103-84 road win over the host NYIT Bears on Saturday afternoon on Long Island. Bridgeport is now 15-11 overall and 10-6 in the East Coast Conference. NYIT falls to 2-23 overall and 2-14 in the ECC.
Senior Eric Rankin (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights with a season and UB career-high 27 points. He was joined in double figures by junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) who finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, sophomore Hashem Abbas (Nablus, Palestine) with 17 points plus senior Vakas Iqbal (Staten Island, N.Y.) with 10 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team will continues its three-game road trip to concluded the regular season at Roberts Wesleyan College on Friday evening for a key East Coast Conference matchup.
