Purple Knights Head Into The New Year At 5-8 Overall
Waltham, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team closed out the 2018 portion of this season schedule with an 81-57 road loss against the host Bentley University Falcons on Sunday afternoon in Massachusetts. The loss sends the Purple Knights overall record to 5-8 so far this season, and UB has now los6t six games in a row. Bentley moves to 11-1 on the year with the victory.
Junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) scored a single-game, career-best 23 points to lead the Purple Knights, plus he grabbed seven rebounds.
UB freshman Jayden Iturmendi (York, Pa.) also notched a career-best scoring output on Sunday netting 14 points.
Bentley's Ryan Richmond led all scorers in the game with 24 points.
The Bridgeport men's basketball team will open the 2019 portion of its schedule on Saturday, January 5 when the Purple Knights open a four-game homestand looking to get back in the win column against American International College. Game time in Hubbell Gym is set for 3:00 p.m.
