Justin Nyarady And Craig Leonard Earn All-ECC Baseball Accolades
Nyarady Selected First Team All-ECC As A Pitcher And Leonard Named Second Team All-ECC At Second Base
West Babylon, N.Y.-Two members of the University of Bridgeport baseball team have earned spots on the 2021 All-East Coast Conference teams. Sophomore pitcher Justin Nyarady (Trumbull, Conn.) was named First Team All-ECC, and junior second baseman Craig Leonard (Holtsville, N.Y.) earned a spot on the All-ECC Second Team.
Nyarady finished the 2021 campaign with a 3-1 record and a team-best 1.50 earned run average, as he appeared in five games making four starts. Justin worked a total of 30.0 innings this season allowing only 17 hits and five runs (all earned) with 30 strikeouts and 12 walks. He shared a pair of shutouts during the year and allowed the opposition a batting average of only .165 against.
Leonard started all 21 of his team's games this season helping the team to a 12-9 record as he batted .321 with 11 runs batted in. Craig scored 15 runs in 2021, as he had 26 hits including four doubles, and was a perfect 5-for-5 in the stolen base department.
