Uniondale, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team saw its 2018 season come to end with a 13-4 loss to the Molloy College Lions in an elimination game in the 2018 East Coast Conference Championship Tournament hosted by Molloy at the Mitchel Field in Uniondale, N.Y. The Purple Knights finish the season with a 14-34 record, and the Lions move on in tournament with a 30-20 mark.
Molloy jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and never looked back.
Senior Ben Torres (Hollywood, Fla.) had two hits on the day for UB, including his sixth home run of the season, a two-run blast in the eighth inning. Classmate Isaiah Rivera (Newington, Conn.) and freshman Stephen Giambra (Milford, Conn.) had the Purple Knights' other RBIs.
Senior Daren Grabowski (Berlin, Conn.) and sophomore Alex Rauso (Trumbull, Conn.) also had two base hits in the game for Bridgeport.
