Bronxville, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon with a 10-3 non-conference, road win over the host Concordia (N.Y.) College Clippers. UB is now 18-15-1 overall; while the Clippers slip to an overall record of 12-22.
Sophomore Jose Negron (New Haven, Conn.) spearheaded the Purple Knights' offense on Saturday going 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs batted in. Senior Alec Jannotta (Branford, Conn.) had two hits and knocked in two runs for the winners.
On the mound, junior Dakota Edwards (Turlock, Calif.) picked up his fifth win of the season working a strong, six innings as the starter. Sophomore Andrew Oswald (St. James, N.Y.) and junior Denis Lyman (Kingston, N.Y.) finished the win off by combining for three scoreless innings.
The same two teams will meet in Bridgeport on Sunday for a single, nine-inning tilt that will begin at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard at 12 noon.
