Tampa, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team and Bentley University combined for 26 hits, 22 bases on balls and 21 runs on Tuesday night, as Bentley posted an 11-10 win over the Purple Knights in 10 innings in a contest played at the University of Tampa. UB is now 5-4-1 overall in 2016, and Bentley ups its' season mark to 5-8.
Bridgeport held leads of 5-0 and 10-6only to see the Falcons came back to grab the win. The Purple Knights struggled in the field on Tuesday night committing five errors that led to five unearned runs.
On offense for the Purple Knights, senior Alnaydo Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.) went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in and two runs scored.
Junior Casey McCone (Milford, Conn.) and sophomore Jose Negron (New Haven, Conn.) also had three hits for UB.
Up next, the Bridgeport baseball team travels to Saint Leo for a 6:00 p.m. tilt on Wednesday evening.
