Nyack Nips UB Baseball, 5-4, In Non-Conference Action
Purple Kniights Set To Close Out 2013 Regular Season With Four-Game ECC Set Against LIU Post That Begins Friday Morning At The Ballpark At Harbor Yard
Pomona, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team lost a 5-4 non-conference decision against Nyack College in a game played at Provident Bank Ballpark on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Purple Knights are 18-22 overall, and Nyack is now 13-22.
Junior John Ascenzia (West Haven, Conn.) had three hits for UB on Tuesday. Sophomore Tim Bickford (Wallingford, Conn.) had two hits and drove in a pair for the Purple Knights, and senior Mike Olszyk (Hamden, Conn.) had two hits and one RBI in a losing effort. Freshman Bryan Kondor (Shelton, Conn.) knocked in Bridgeport's other run on the night.
The UB baseball team will now wrap up the 2013 regular season with a four-game East Coast Conference series versus LIU Post that will begin on Friday morning, May 3 with an 11 a.m. single game at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
