Baseball Falls Twice To Queens (N.Y.) College
Same Two Teams Continue Their ECC Series On Monday Afternoon In Flushing
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team was swept in a home East Coast Conference doubleheader by the visiting Queens (N.Y.) College Knights on Monday at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Queens won the opener, 7-6, and rallied to scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to post a 3-1 victory in the nightcap. With the two losses, UB is now 10-15 overall and 4-6 in the ECC. Queens is now 11-15 overall and sits atop the conference standings at 7-3.
In game one, junior Jesse Solar (Marlton, N.J.) went 3-for-3, and classmate Brock Roggie (Lowville, N.Y.) drove in two runs.
In game two, the Purple Knights were limited to only four total hits, and Solar drove in the team's lone run with a fifth inning single.
The same two teams will continue their four-game ECC series in Flushing, N.Y. tomorrow, Monday, April 15, with a single game. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
