Ninth Inning Rally Lifts Molloy To 5-4 ECC Baseball Win Over Purple Knights

Uniondale, N.Y.-The Molloy College Lions rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to post a 5-4 East Coast Conference baseball win over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Tuesday afternoon.  With the win, Molloy is now 13-18 overall and 3-6 in conference play.  UB falls to 7-12 overall and 4-6 in the ECC.

Senior Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.), junior Berny Polanco (Dominican Republic) and sophomore John Ascenzia (West Haven, Conn.) each had two hits on the day for UB.  Schlitter also added two runs batted in.

Junior Chris Maull (Winslow, N.J) took the loss in relief for UB.  Maull's record now stands at 1-3.

The UB baseball team is back in action at Post University in Waterbury on Thursday afternoon.
