Baseball Returns To Action In Florida And Falls To Bentley, 6-2
UB On 1-2 On The Young Season
Winter Park, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team returned to the diamond in Florida on Tuesday, and the Purple Knights were defeated by the Bentley University Falcons (5-9), 6-2, in a game played at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. UB is now 1-2 on the young 2012 season.
The Falcons jumped on Bridgeport starter Matt Wing (Jr., Brookville, Ontario, Canada), who is now 0-1 on the year, for four runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.
The Purple Knights, who had eight hits on the day, got runs batted in from junior Mike Doran (Milford, Conn.) and classmate Zach Theulen (West Springfield, Mass.).
The UB baseball team is back in action on Wednesday, March 14 when the face Stonehill College in another game that will be hosted by Rollins College. Action begins in the Sunshine State at 11:00 a.m.
