The Purple Knights dropped the first two sets of the evening 20-25 and 22-25 respectively before winning the third set 25-22 to stay alive. AIC would win the match after taking the fourth set 25-21.
Hailey Jessen (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Purple Knights attack with 15 kills. Paola Hernandez (Jr., Bayamon, P.R.) was just one shy with 14 kills and added 10 digs to record the only UB double-double of the night.
Jaden Drollinger (Jr., Queens Creek, Ariz.) dished out 45 assists, while contributing four kills and four digs. Lucia Tomiello (So., Caltrano, Italy) was just one kill away from a double-double, with nine kills along with her 10 digs.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team will be back in action as they travel to New Jersey Thursday evening to take on Caldwell University for a CACC Clash. Match time is set for 6:00 p.m.
