UB Volleyball Stays Hot With A Four-Set Road Conference Road Win Over Bloomfield
Purple Knights Now 3-0 In The CACC And 10-2 Overall
Bloomfield, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team continued to roll along in the month of September, as the Purple Knights rebounded from dropping the first set to defeat the host Bloomfield College Bears, 21-25, 25-9, 25-20, 25-21, for the team's six win a row and victory number eight in UB's last nine outings. Bridgeport is now 10-2 overall and 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. Bloomfield remains winless in 2023 at 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the CACC.
Freshman Hailey Jessen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led all players in the match with 20 kills, as she hit .308 on the afternoon.
Graduate student Datari Mathis (Wethersfield, Conn.) chipped in eight kills for the winners, and freshman Grace Presswood (S. Dennis, Mass.) had a solid all-around day with a team-best 12 digs, six kills and three service aces.
Setter Jaden Drollinger (Jr., Queens Creek, Ariz.) directed the balance Bridgeport offense with 28 assists.
After taking Sunday off, the UB women's volleyball team will get right back on the court on Monday night, when the Purple Knights open a two-match homestand with a non-conference clash versus the Adelphi University Panthers. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Hubbell Gym.
