UB Volleyball Remains Undefeated At Home With Straight Sets Victory Over Stonehill
Bridgeport Now 18-4 Overall And 5-0 In Hubbell Gym
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team remained undefeated at home this season at 5-0 and upped its overall season mark to 18-4 with a straight sets, 25-15, 25-22, 26-24, win over the visiting Stonehill College Skyhawks on Tuesday evening in Hubbell Gym. With the loss, the Skyhawks slip to 9-7 on the season.
Senior Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Bridgeport offense with 10 kills on Tuesday, and she was followed by classmate Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) and sophomore Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), who each notched seven kills on the night.
Keller as chipped in a team-best six blocks in the win, as the Purple Knights amassed a total of nine team blocks. Freshman Datari Mathis (New Britain, Conn.) had four blocks in the three sets.
Junior Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) each reached double-digit assists for UB on Tuesday; as Johnson had 17 assists, and Killorin had 10 helpers.
Sophomore Breanna Jones (Littleton, Colo.) led the Bridgeport defense in the back row with 16 digs on the evening.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team will host the College of St. Rose on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Park City.
