Volleyball Falls For The First Time In Conference Play At Molloy On Wednesday Night
UB Now 13-3 Overall And 2-1 In The ECC
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team suffered its first East Coast Conference loss of the season on Wednesday night, as the visiting Purple Knights fell in three, hard-fought sets to the host Molloy College Lions, 17-25, 20-25, 23-25. UB is now 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the ECC. Molloy remains unbeaten in conference action at 3-0, and the Lions are now 11-3 overall.
Senior Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) led the Bridgeport offense with 10 kills on the night, and she finished with a double-double recording 11 digs.
Sophomore Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) finished with nine kills and hit .474 in the match (9 k-0 e-19 ta).
Sophomore setter Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) notched another double-double on Wednesday with 31 assists and 12 digs.
Junior Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) led the Purple Knights' defense with 22 digs in the three sets, and sophomore Breanna Jones (Littleton, Colo.) has reached double-digit digs with 15.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball travels to New Hampshire on Saturday when they will take on Franklin Pierce University. Match time is set for 5:00 p.m. in the Granite State.
