Bridgeport Volleyball Now 2-0 On The Season After Road Sweep At Assumption
Morgan Knights Leads UB Attack With 15 Kills On The Evening
Worcester, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team moved to 2-0 on the season with a straight sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23, non-conference road win at Assumption College on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the host Greyhounds slip to 0-3 on the season.
Senior Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Bridgeport offense with 15 and hit .314 on the night.
Knight was joined in double-digit kills by classmate Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) with 10, and Henneman also had eight digs in the win.
Sophomore Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) recorded nine kills on Wednesday and led UB with two blocks.
Senior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) fell just shy of a double-double for the winners with eight kills and 10 digs.
Sophomore setter Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) registered 36 assists on night and had a total of nine digs.
Sophomore Breanna Jones (Littleton, Colo.) led the Bridgeport defense recorded 18 digs in the back row, and junior Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) chipped in nine digs for the Purple Knights.
The Bridgeport women's volleyball team will be back in action this weekend in Waterbury, Connecticut at the Post University Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. UB will open the four-match weekend on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against the host Eagles.
