Volleyball Falls In 2018 Home Finale To Daemen In ECC Play
Same Two Teams Will Meet In ECC Semifinals At Daemen on Friday Night
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team wrapped up its 2018 home schedule on Sunday afternoon at Hubbell Gym with a Senior Day East Coast Conference matchup against ECC regular season champions, the Daemen College Wildcats, and Purple Knights fell to the visitors in straight sets, 20-25, 21-25, 13-25. UB is now 14-12 overall and 8-6 in conference play. The Wildcats mover to 19-10 overall and finish the regular season at 13-1 in the ECC. The same two teams will meet again on Friday night at Daemen in an East Coast Conference Championship Tournament semifinal at 6:00 p.m. The other ECC volleyball semifinal will feature Molloy versus LIU Post.
On Saturday prior to the match, the Purple Knights honored their two seniors, Lexi Enck (Lititz, Pa.) and Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.).
Freshman Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) played a fine match on Saturday for Bridgeport smashing a match-high 11 kills with no errors to finish the afternoon with a .647 attack percentage.
Rich led UB with 16 assists and freshman Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) also reach double-digit helpers with 10.
Freshman Breanna Jones (Littleton, Colo.) finished the afternoon as the Purple Knights' leader in digs with 10.
