Volleyball Falls On The Road In Four Sets At Molloy
UB Now 12-9 Overall And 6-4 In The ECC
Rockville Centre, N.Y.- The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team traveled to Long Island on Saturday afternoon for an East Coast Conference contest at Molloy College, as the visiting Purple Knights fell to the host Lions UB fell in four sets, 20-25, 25-19, 20-25, 19-25. Bridgeport is now 12-9 overall and 6-4 in the ECC. Molloy moves to 15-6 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
Junior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) led UB in kills with 11. Classmate Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and freshman Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) fell just shy of double-digit kills, as they each finished the day with nine.
Senior setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had 33 assists.
On defense, Bridgeport was led by freshman Breanna Jones with a match-high 24 digs. UB sophomore Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) reached double figures in kills 13 digs.
The UB women's volleyball team will wrap up its tough seven-match road swing looking to get back in the win column when they travel to LIU Post on Friday night. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
