Purple Knights Right Back In Action Tomorrow At Molloy
Flushing, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak and moved to 12-8 overall and 6-3 in East Coast Conference action with a 25-21, 25-13, 25-9 road win over the host Queens (N.Y.) College Knights in New York City on Friday evening. With the loss, QC is now 1-19 overall and 0-9 in the ECC.
Junior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) led the UB offense with 10 kills, and freshman Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) chipped in eight kills and hit a blistering .583 on the night.
Bridgeport senior setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had a match-high 36 assists on Friday night.
On defense, the Purple Knights were led by freshman Breanna Jones (Littleton, Colo.) with 17 digs.
The UB volleyball team is right back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Purple Knights travel to Molloy College for an important conference contest. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
