Purple Knights Breeze By Queens (N.Y.) College In ECC Volleyball Action
UB Now 6-0 At Home So Far In 2018
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team remained perfect at home and moved to 3-0 in East Coast Conference play by breezing past the visiting Queens (N.Y.) College Knights, 25-9, 25-10, 25-13 on Saturday afternoon in Hubbell Gym. The Purple Knights, who are now 6-0 at home so far in 2018, move to 9-4 overall with the victory. QC slips to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the ECC.
Junior Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led Bridgeport with eight kills, as she hit a blistering .800, as she did not have an error on the day.
Junior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) and freshman Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) were next on the kills list with five.
Freshman setter Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) had 19 assists to lead her team on the day, plus five of the Purple Knights' season best 18 service aces.
Sophomore Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) led the UB defense with 13 digs on the day.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team travels to NYIT for an ECC match on Long island on Friday evening. First serve is set 6:00 p.m.
