UB Volleyball Falls At LIU Post
Purple Knights Will Open Three-Match Homestand On Tuesday Night Versus Bentley
Brookville, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team suffered its second straight East Coast Conference loss on Thursday night, as the visiting Purple Knights fell in three sets to the host LIU Post Pioneers, 15-25, 22-25, 21-25. Bridgeport is now 8-10 overall and 4-3 in conference action. LIUP ups its overall season mark to 19-3, and the Pioneers are now 6-1 in the ECC.
Junior setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had a double-double for UB on Thursday with 28 assists and a team-best 11 digs.
On offense for the Purple Knights, senior Bruna Santos (Curitiba, Brazil) led the team with 10 kills, and sophomore Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) added nine. Both players also finished with nine digs on the night.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday night when they open a three-match homestand with a non-conference contest versus Bentley University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Hubbell Gym.
