Junior Ellie Rich Posts Another Double-Double With 29 Assists And 10 Digs
N. Easton, Mass-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its second win in a row, and its fifth victory in its last six outings with a straight sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-17, non-conference road triumph over the host Stonehill College Skyhawks on Thursday night. UB is now 6-8 on the season, and Stonehill slips to 4-8 overall in 2017.
Junior setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) posted another double-double on Thursday with 29 assists and a team-high 10 digs.
Sophomore Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) led the winners in kills with 11 and added seven digs on the night.
Senior Bruna Santos (Curitiba, Brazil) also reached double-digit kills at Stonehill with 10.
Classmate Sheri Middleton (Humboldt, Kansas) was dominant at the net in Thursday's win recording seven blocks and smashing seven kills.
Freshman Olivia Storaci (Longmont, Colo.) helped anchor the UB defense at Stonehill with nine digs.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team returns to East Coast Conference play on Tuesday evening with a key home match against Molloy College. First serve in Hubbell Gym is set for 7:00 p.m.
