Volleyball Stopped In Four Sets In Non-Conference Match At Bentley
Purple Knights Return To ECC Action On Tuesday At LIU Post
Waltham, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team fell in four sets on Friday night in a non-conference match hosted by the Bentley University Falcons, 21-25, 25-23, 18-25, 20-25. UB is now an even 9-9 on the season, and Bentley raises its overall mark to 7-11.
Senior Frida Randen (Sodertalje, Sweden) led three Purple Knights in double-digit kills with 15, and she finished with a double-double recording 15 digs. Frida also led the team with five service aces on the night
Randen was joined in double-figure kills by freshman Makayla Maroney (Parker, Colo.) with 11 and junior Bruna Santos (Curitiba, Brazil) with 10.
UB junior Sheri Middleton (Humboldt, Kansas) had seven kills and three total block on Friday night.
Sophomore setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) finished with a double-double recording a total of 44 assists with 10 digs.
Senior Amelie Guinci (Cannes, France) had a match-high 28 digs, and classmate Salina DeCicco (Kingston, N.Y.) had 10 digs for the Purple Knights.
Up next, the UB volleyball returns to East Coast Conference action with a road match on Tuesday evening against LIU Post to open the second round of conference play. Game time on Long Island is set for 7:00 p.m.
