Garden City, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end on Tuesday night, as the Purple Knights fell in straight sets to the host Adelphi University Panthers in non-conference action, 19-25, 15-25, 15-25. UB is now 3-6 overall, and AU evens its 2016 overall mark at 7-7.
Seniors Sara Cruz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and Frida Randen (Sodertalje, Sweden) plus freshman Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Bridgeport offense, as they each notched five kills.
Sophomore setter Ellie Rich Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had 18 assists, and Cruz and classmate Amelie Guinci (Cannes, France), each had 13 digs in the match.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team will look to get back in the win column when they return to East Coast Conference play on Thursday night at home against Queens (N.Y.) College. First serve in Hubbell Gym is set for 7:00 p.m.
