UB Remains Unbeaten In ECC Volleyball Action With 3-0 Victory At Queens (N.Y.) College
Bridgeport Now 12-6 Overall And 5-0 In Conference Action
Flushing N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team remained unbeaten in East Coast Conference play and won its ninth match in a row with a straight sets, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13, victory at Queens (N.Y.) College on Thursday evening. UB is now 5-0 in the ECC and 12-6 overall. QC slips to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
Junior Katarina Krstonosic (Kikinda, Serbia) led the Bridgeport offense with a match-high 14 kills and a strong .522 attack percentage on the night.
Senior Jade Zhao (Huhhot, China) chipped in eight kills (.538 attack percentage) for the winners, plus she added five total blocks. Classmate Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) had seven kills on the night.
UB setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) directed the Purple Knights' offense with a match-leading 30 assists.
Junior libero Amelie Guinci (Cannes, France) led the UB defense with 13 digs.
The Bridgeport women's volleyball is right back in action on Friday night when the Purple Knights host Adelphi University in a key regional contest. First save is for 7:00 p.m.in Hubbell Gym.
