Purple Knights Continue To Roll Along With 3-0 ECC Women's Volleyball Sweep At Molloy

Rockville Centre, N.Y-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its fifth win in a row and victory number 14 in its last 15 matches, as the Purple Knights won at Molloy College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-23) in East Coast Conference action on Tuesday night.  Bridgeport is now 17-2 overall and remains perfect in conference play at 12-0.  The host Lions are now 10-12 overall and 5-6 in the ECC.

Junior Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) led the UB offense with 12 kills on the night, and she notched a double-double with 10 kills and chipped in three blocks.

Graduate student Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) fell just short of her own double-double with 15 assists and nine kills.  Classmate Giovana Soares (Sao Paulo, Brazil) lead all players on the night with 18 assists for the Purple Knights.

Senior Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) had a strong match on both sides of the net crushing eight kills and adding three blocks.

UB senior Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) led the team in digs with 11 and contributed five kills on offense.

Libero Martina Santia (Jr., Sezze, Italy) had nine digs on the evening to help out the Purple Knights' back row.

On Thursday night, the Bridgeport women's volleyball team is back in action at home when they host ECC foe NYIT in Hubbell Gym.  Action is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
