UB Volleyball Falls In Four Sets At Stonehill
Loss Snaps Nine-Match Winning Streak
North Easton, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team saw its nine-match winning streak come to an end on Friday, as the Purple Knights fell in four sets at Stonehill in a non-conference match, 25-23, 11-25. 28-30, 23-25. UB is now 12-2 overall, and Stonehill moves to 12-3 on the season.
Senior Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) led the Bridgeport offense with 16 kills, and she was joined in double-figure kills by classmate Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) with 10.
Senior Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) had another double-double on Friday with 22 assists and 10 digs.
Michele Santos (Campinas, Brazil) led the UB defense with 15 digs on Friday.
The Bridgeport women's volleyball team will look to get back in the win column on Thursday evening when the Purple Knights host Queens (N.Y.) College to close out the first round of East Coast Conference action. Action is slated to begin in Hubbell Gym at 7:00 p.m.
