Volleyball Sweeps Southern New Hampshire
Purple Knights Post 25-10, 25-15, 25-23 Victory
Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Fernanda Costa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) had a match-high 13 kills with a .435 attack percentage and also registered 10 digs to help led the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights to a straight sets, 25-10, 25-15, 25-23, non-conference home volleyball win over visiting Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, UB is now 3-0 on the season. SNHU falls to 1-3 on the season.
Senior Ivy Morrison (Topeka, Kan.) was second on the Purple Knights in kills on Saturday with seven. Freshman Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) and Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) also played well on offense, as they each notched six kills. Oilveira also had four block assists.
Senior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) directed the Bridgeport offense with 30 assists.
Senior libero Carolina Lobato Belo Horizonte, Brazil) had a match-leading 15 digs on the afternoon.
The UB volleyball team will be back in action on Wednesday night at the University of New Haven.
