Volleyball Falls To Dowling In NCAA East Regional Final
UB Wraps Up 2010 Season At 25-5
Oakdale, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team saw its 2010 season come to an end on Saturday night, as the Purple Knights, the number three seeded team in the region, fell in straight sets, 23-25, 19-25, 17-25, in the NCAA Division II East Regional Final for the second straight season to the host and top-seeded Dowling College Golden Lions.
Dowling now advances to the NCAA Elite Eight with a 30-1 record. UB finishes 2010 with a 25-5 mark.
Graduate student Agatha Baliddawa-Mukisa (Jinja, Uganda) led the Purple Knights in kills with a match-high 16. She was joined in double-figure kills by senior Terry Masava (Nairobi, Kenya) with 13.
Graduate student Ivana Kovacevic-Jurasin (Belgrade, Serbia) led Bridgeport with 10 digs, and junior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) had a match-high 37 assists on the night.
Baliddawa-Mukisa, Masava and Leite were named to the All-Tournament Team for this season NCAA Division II East Regional.
