UB Volleyball Cruises Past Mercy
Purple Knights Now 10-0 in Conference Play And 21-2 Overall
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport volleyball stayed undefeated in East Coast Conference play at 10-0 and raised its overall season mark to 21-2 with an easy 25-12, 25-12, 25-11 road win over the Mercy College Mavericks on Thursday night. With the loss, Mercy falls to 3-22 overall and 0-9 in the ECC.
Senior Terry Masava (Nairobi, Kenya) led UB in kills with nine on Thursday night. Graduate student Agatha Baliddawa-Mukisa (Jinja, Uganda) chipped in eight kills and added six blocks (one solo) for the winners.
Junior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) directed the Bridgeport offense with 27 assists, and sophomore Taylor McBeth (Langley, BC, Canada) led the UB defense with 15 digs.
The Purple Knights return to action on Tuesday night at Dowling College in a huge East Coast Conference tilt that begins at 7:00 p.m.
