Baliddawa-Mukisa Notches 24 Kills To Help UB Volleyball To Four-Set Win Over Queens
Purple Knights Now 7-0 In Conference Play
Bridgeport, Conn.-Graduate student Agatha Baliddawa-Mukisa (Jinja, Uganda) crushed a match-high 24 kills and hit .541 (24 k-4 e-37 ta) to help lead the University of Bridgeport volleyball team to a four-set, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 25-15, home East Coast Conference win over the Queens (N.Y.) College Knights in Hubbell Gym on Tuesday night. The victory keeps the Purple Knights undefeated in conference play at 7-0, and the team is now 17-2 overall. Queens falls to 5-13 overall and 2-5 in the ECC.
Joining Baliddawa-Mukisa in double-figure kills were fellow graduate student Ivana Kovacevic-Jurasin (Belgrade, Serbia) with 16 and senior Terry Masava (Nairobi, Kenya) with 11.
Junior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) directed the UB offense to the tune of 49 assists.
Sophomore Taylor McBeth (Langley, BC, Canada) led five Bridgeport players who registered double figure digs with 22.
Bridgeport is back in action at home on Thursday night when they host an East Coast Conference meeting with New York Tech. Action gets underway in Hubbell Gym at 7:00 p.m.
