Swimming's Annagrazia Bonsanti Selected To 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® At-Large Team
2017-18 University of Bridgeport Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Senior Posted An Impressive 3.93 Grade Point Average As A Health Sciences Major
Bridgeport, Conn.-The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by CoSIDA (The College Sports Information Directors Association of America), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, and University of Bridgeport senior All-American, swimmer Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) has earned a spot on the Women's NCAA Division II District 1 squad.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
The 2017-18 University of Bridgeport Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Annagrazia posted a 3.93 grade point average as a Health Sciences major during her stellar and record-setting UB career in the pool.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed here for men's at-large and women's at-large, and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
Members of the At-Large teams come from the sports of Women's Beach Volleyball Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Men's and Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rifle, Men's and Women's Skiing, Men's and Women's Swimming, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo plus Men's Wrestling.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.
