Three Individuals Earn Honorable Mention All-America Honors For UB Swimming On Final Day Of 2018 NCAA Championship Meet
Annagrazia Bonsanti, Wilmar Du Plessis And Kosta Mitrovic Earn NCAA Honors On Saturday Night
Greensboro, N.C.-The University of Bridgeport women's and men's swimming teams wrapped up competition at the at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday night, and three individuals earned Honorable Motion All-American honors on Saturday night.
For the UB women, senior Annagrazia Bonsanti (Caracas, Venezuela) posted her second Honorable Mention All-America swim to go along with All-America honors from last night's 500 Yard Freestyle, as she took eleventh place in the 1650 Yard Free in a time of 17:01.23.
On the men's side, the Purple Knights got points from Honorable Motion All-America swims from junior Wilmar Du Plessis (Bloemfontein, South Africa), who took 15th place in the 200 Yard Backstroke in a time of 1:48.03, and freshman Kosta Mitrovic (Belgrade, Serbia) who grabbed 14th place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke.
Junior Nina Stegu (Ljublijana, Slovenia) swam in the women's 100 Yard Freestyle, but did not advance to the evening session turning in a time of 51.93.
The UB finished in 31st place out of 45 scoring teams at this year's NCAA meet with 23 points, and the Bridgeport men posted five points with tied them for 30th place out of 35 scoring teams this year.
