Bridgeport Blitzes Bloomfield 8-0 in New Jersey
Bloomfield, N.J. – The University Bridgeport women’s soccer team’s offense came alive Tuesday evening as five different players hit the score sheet in route to an 8-0 victory over Bloomfield College. The win improves UB’s record to 6-4-3 overall and 4-3-1 in the CACC.

Tatianna Lizarraga (Grad., Tucson, Ariz.) started the scoring in the 17 minutes into the action from an assist off Kate Thill (Jr., Goetzingen. Luxembourg). This was followed 11 minutes later as Thill found the back of the net herself, off a Kristi Jazdzewski (Jr., Appleton, Wis.) assist.
UB went up 3-0 just four minute later after Kate Thill scored her second goal of the game and ninth of the season in the 32nd minute.
Junior Angelina LoFranco (Greenacres, Fla.) started the goal scoring in the second half, netting an unassisted goal less than 5 minutes after the restart. LoFranco would score again in the 56th minute, her fourth goal of the campaign to make the score 5-0 for the Purple Knights.
Tatianna Lizarraga tallied her second goal of the evening and seventh of the year off a goalkeeper Angelina Griva (Fr., Zakynthos, Greece) assist in the 67th minute.
Two Purple Knights recorded their first goals of the 2023 season. The first being an unassisted Rachel Healy (Fr., Lindenhurst, N.Y.) goal that came in the 78th minute. The second was Erika Mazza (Grad., Campania, Italy) who scored with just 14 seconds left on the clock after a Katie Burfoot (Jr., Winnipeg, Canada) assist.
Both Angelina Griva and Antia Lopez (Fr., Galicia, Spain) contributed to the shutout in net for UB, with both registering one save each.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team will take on the College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y. for a non-conference battle Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
