Lincoln University, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team scored five goals in the first 45 minutes and added six more in the second half, as the Purple Knights rolled to an 11-1 road win over East Coast Conference newcomer, Lincoln (Pa.) University on Thursday night in the Keystone State. With the victory, UB is now 5-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the ECC. The host Lions remain winless in 2018 falling to 0-10-0 overall and 0-5-0 in conference play. Thursday night's victory also gives Bridgeport head coach Magnus Nilerud career win number 260 during his twenty years on his alma mater's sidelines.
Four UB players each had two goals on the night in juniors Nara DaCosta (Pancas, Brazil), Maegen Doyle (Harwich, England) and Elin Eklund (Gothenburg, Sweden) plus freshman Anisha Hill (Woking, England).
Junior Rebecca Niblett (Fleet Hampshire, England) and sophomore Andrea Basilicato (Guilford, Conn. ) each had a goal and an assist for a three-point night, and senior Karoline Vieira (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) had one goal on Friday, as she netted UB's first tally of the match.
Senior Jennifer Wendelius (Lidingo, Sweden) made two saves in net to pick up the win.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team will continue its hectic schedule on Saturday at 12 noon when UB hosts Daemen College in an East Coast Conference tilt on Homecoming in the Park City.
