Bridgeport, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team defeated the visiting Holy Family University Tigers, 3-0, in their Homecoming match on Saturday afternoon at Knights Field. The Purple Knights evened their 2017 season record at 5-5-2 with Saturday's victory. Holy Family is now 9-3-0 overall with the defeat.
Sophomore Maegen Doyle (Harwich, England) opened the scoring off a free kick at the 12:26 mark, and senior Ariana Weingrad (Hicksville, NY) followed with another goal roughly four minutes later off the assist from freshman Amanda Ebbesson (Solna, Sweden).
Ebbesson scored a goal of her own early in the second half off a beautiful feed from classmate Abigail Befford (E. Brookfield, MA) to make the final score 3-0.
