Springfield, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team saw its early season record drop to 0-2 following a 2-0 loss to the host American International College Yellow Jackets (1-1) in the final match of 2017 AIC Women's Soccer Classic on Sunday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets made a pair of first half goals stand up as the scored on a penalty kick just 5:15 into play and directly off a corner kick at the 31:51 mark.
The Purple Knights held a 15-8 advantage in shots on the day, but AIC goalkeeper Mikayla Demanche made seven saves to record the shutout.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team will open its 2017 home schedule on Wednesday evening with a 6:00 p.m. tilt versus local rival Southern Connecticut State University.
