Bio

Sophia Agostinelli is entering her second season with the UB Women’s lacrosse team. Agostinelli comes to UB after playing four years of lacrosse at the College of the Holy Cross, as both a defender and occasional draw taker. In her junior year she made All-Patriot League Honors, was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, and tied the Patriot-League all-time record of 6 caused turnovers in a single game. In senior campaign, Agostinelli’s 60 caused turnovers was ranked sixth in program history and she was ranked 17th nationally in caused turnovers. Agostinelli also played for the Inaugural Italian Women’s National Lacrosse Team and went over to Rome to run clinics and practices with the Italian Women’s lacrosse players. 

 

Upon graduating she played professional ice hockey and coached club lacrosse in Hannover, Germany. While there she also was an assistant coach for Team Germany as they were preparing for the 2017 World Cup. Every year in June, she runs a two week clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. Currently, she coaches for the Connecticut Grizzlies girl’s lacrosse club and plays for the Connecticut Whale of the National Women’s Hockey League.
