Offense Continues To Fire On All Cylinders As Women's Lacrosse Tops Chestnut Hill, 21-4
Purple Knights Now 4-0 On The Season
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team continued to see its offense click on all cylinders on a snowy Wednesday afternoon in the Park City, as the Purple Knights scored at least 20 goals for the third time in four games played so far in 2022, as UB moved to 4-0 on the season with a 21-4 win over the visiting Chestnut Hill College Griffins (1-2).
Senior Megan Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) led the UB offensive onslaught through the white stuff on Wednesday, as she found the back of the net six times to give her a team-high 15 goals so far this season.
Five other Purple Knights scored multiple goals against the Griffins, as senior Addison Plume (Glen Arm, Md.) had a nine-point day with four goals and five assists, graduate student Andrea Basilicato (Guilford, Conn.) had three goals and four helpers for seven points, seniors Jessica Kinser (Voorhees, N.J.) and Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.), each had three goals, and graduate student Courtney Hylok (Muskegon, Mich.) chipped in a pair of goals for the winners.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) raised her season record to 4-0 on Wednesday, as she made five stops in between the pipes for the Purple Knights.
Up next, UB women's lacrosse team will look to run its season record to 5-0 on Friday afternoon, when the Chargers of Dominican (N.Y.) College come to Knights Field for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
