Junior Barbara Orsini Picks Up 10 Points On The Day With Six Goals And Four Assists
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team picked up its fifth straight win and remained unbeaten at home on Monday, as the Purple Knights closed out their non-conference schedule with an 18-7 win over the Nyack College Warriors. UB is now 4-0 at home, as the team moves its overall record to 6-3. Nyack is now 4-6 on the season with Monday's loss.
Junior Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights' offense on Monday with 10 points on six goals and four assists.
Freshman Megan Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) had four goals for the winners, and freshman Danielle Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) plus sophomore Julia Ruscio (St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada), each had a hat trick on Monday. Danielle Kreitler also had seven draw controls on the afternoon, and Ruscio chipped in a pair of assists.
Senior Geovanna Ferreira (Danbury, Conn.) and sophomore Shyla Murray (Brentwood, N.Y.) rounded out the Bridgeport goal scorers with single markers.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will open a three-game road trip with an East Coast Conference game at St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 11:00 a.m.
