Courtney Forry Amasses 12 Points With Six Goals And Six Assists As UB Women's Lacrosse Tops Dominican, 19-15
Win Evens UB's Season Record At 3-3
Orangeburg, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team evened its season record at 3-3 and recorded back-to-back wins for the first time in 2019, as the Purple Knights picked up a 19-15 road win over the host Dominican (N.Y.) College Chargers on a damp Thursday afternoon. Bridgeport trailed 7-5 in the first half before rallying to score five goals in a row to grab a 10-7 halftime lead which they never relinquished. Dominican is now 0-4 on the season.
Senior Courtney Forry (Reinholds, Pa.) led the UB offense on Thursday with 12 points on six goals and six assists.
Freshman Megan Kreitler (Shelton, Conn.) added five goals for the winners, and junior Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) had eight points on the afternoon on four goals and four assists.
Sophomore Julia Ruscio (St, Catherines, Ontario, Canada) finished with two goals and two assists for the Purple Knights, and she helped her team take control of the contest recording a total of eight draw controls.
Up next, the Purple Knights continue a busy week of lacrosse on Saturday when the team opens East Coast Conference play when they host the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday at Knights Field. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
