Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team saw its two-game winning streak snapped at home on Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Knights dropped an 18-10 East Coast Conference decision to the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans. UB is now 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the ECC. STAC ups its season mark to 5-8 overall, and they move to 2-5 in conference play.
Junior Courtney Forry (Reinholds, Pa.) had four goals and one assist to lead the Bridgeport offense. Freshman Julia Ruscio (St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada) added three goals for the Purple Knights, and junior Ava Gambardella (West Haven, Conn.) had two goals plus one assist, and junior Barbara Orsini (N. Babylon, N.Y.) rounded out the UB goal scorers with one tally.
Sophomore goalkeeper Cheyanne Gangel (Oakridge, N.J.) made 10 stops on the afternoon for Bridgeport.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will play its final home game of 2018 on Friday evening when they host Molloy College in an ECC tilt at 6:00 p.m. at Knights Field.
