Women's Lacrosse Named An IWLCA ZAG Sports Academic Honor Squad For Second Consecutive Season
Three Individuals Also Honored For Their Outstanding Academics
Grand Lake, Col.–For the second straight season, the University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team was one of 300 schools across Division I, II, III and NAIA that were honored as Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Academic Honors Squads, while three members of the team were also named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. To qualify for the team honor, the women's lacrosse program must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
Seniors Rebecca Rieg (Long Valley, N.J.) plus Kerry Mackinnon (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and junior Abigail Benesh (Horseheads, N.Y.) were the three Purple Knights who represented UB on the honor roll. Individuals named to the Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll must be a junior, senior or graduate student who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater during the academic year.
