Mercy Stops Women's Lacrosse, 12-7

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-7 East Coast Conference road decision against the Mercy College Mavericks on Saturday afternoon. UB is now 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the ECC. Mercy raises its overall record to 5-7 overall and an even 3-3 in conference action.
Graduate student Megan Doyle (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) and junior Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Bridgeport offense, as they each scored two goals.
Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Carney (Norwalk, Conn.) made 14 saves for the Purple Knights.
Up next for the UB women's lacrosse to a trip to the nation's number one ranked team and conference-leader LIU Post on Wednesday afternoon for a 4:30 game.
