Lake Erie Tops Women's Lacrosse, 16-14, In ECC Action
Purple Knights Now 3-3 Overall And 0-2 In Conference Play
Painesville, Ohio-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought East Coast Conference game at Lake Erie College on Sunday afternoon, as the Purple Knights fell to the Storm, 16-14. UB is now 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Lake Erie raises its season record to 7-6, and LEC is now 1-4 in the ECC.
With the game tied 5-5 in the first half, Lake Erie scored four unanswered goals to take a 9-5 lead which they never relinquished.
Graduate student Lindsay Kehoe (West Haven, Conn.) led the UB offense with five goals. Freshman Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had four goals, and classmates Alexia Costa (Providence, R.I.) and Katie King (Paxton, Mass.) netted three and two goals respectively.
The UB women's lacrosse team is right back in action on Monday afternoon, as they travel to Seton Hill College. Action gets underway in Pennsylvania at 4:00 p.m.
