Purple Knights Take Third Place In Gymnastics Quad Meet Hosted By Penn
UB Totals 192.450 On The Day
Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team took third place in a quad meet hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday in the City of Brotherly Love. The host Quakers took first place with a team total of 193.425. West Chester University took second place at 193.250; followed by the Purple Knights at 192.450 and William & Mary was fourth with a time score of 191.950.
As a team on Sunday, UB scored a 48.725 on the bars, a 47.025 on the balance beam, a 48.300 in the floor exercise and a 48.400 on the vault.
On the bars, junior Regan Dillon (Ringle, Wis.) was the Purple Knights top finisher tying for second place at 9.800.
In the floor exercise, senior Maya Reimers (New York, N.Y.) topped the UB list with a tie for fourth place with a score of 9.800.
On the balance beam, Reimers and junior Gabrielle Kistner (Raleigh, N.C.) tied for fourth place, as they each scored 9.625.
On the vault, sophomore Julianna Roland (Lumberton, N.J.) was the top Purple Knight finishing in a tie for second with a 9.800, and sophomore Caitlin Gray (Newington, Conn.) tied for fourth place turning in a score of 9.750.
In Sunday's all-around completion, Julianna Roland took third place with a total of 38.750 in the four events, and Gabrielle Kistner was fourth with a total of 38.700.
After taking next weekend off, the UB women's gymnastics team will be back in action on Saturday, February 29 at Southern Connecticut State University for a five-team, mega meet taking on SCSU, West Chester, Rhode Island College and Brown.
