Purple Knights Advance To Saturday's USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate Team Final
UB Posts Season-High Score Of 195.750 On Friday
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team will be competing for the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Team Championship at home on Saturday night, as the Purple Knights posted a season-high team score of 195,750 to top second place UIC (195.675), third place Cornell (193.400) and fourth place Texas Women's University (193.225) in the second semifinal of the 2019 USAG Women's Collegiate Team Championship taking place at UB's Wheeler Recreation Center. Bridgeport and UIC will be joined by Lindenwood and Air Force in Saturday's team final that will begin at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, the Purple Knights scored 49.175 in the floor exercise to begin the evening, a 48.800 on the vault, a 48.950 on the bars and closed the night with a 48.825 on the beam.
UB freshman Julianna Roland (Lumberton, N.J.) tied for first place in the vault in Friday's second session with a score of 9.825, and sophomore Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) won the bars with a score of 9.925.
