Purple Knights Fall In Home Gymnastics Dual Meet With New Hampshire
UB Travels To Maryland On Sunday

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team fell to the visiting University of New Hampshire Wildcats, 195.050 to 193.550, on Thursday night in Wheeler Recreation Center.
As a team on Thursday, UB posted a 48.600 on the bars, a 47.875 on the beam, a 48.800 on the vault and a season-high 49.025 in the floor exercise.
Sophomore Maya Reimers (New York, N.Y.) took second on the vault for the Purple Knights with a score of 9.725, while junior teammate Brieanna Zine (Brockton, Mass.) took fifth with a score of 9.700.
UB took three of the top five spots on the bars for the night. Senior Kelli Tereshko (Madison, Indiana) placed third with a score of 9.800 while junior Maritza Futch (Atlanta, Ga.) followed close behind in fourth place with a score of 9.775. Rounding out the top five was freshman Kathryn Doran (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) with a score of 9.750.
While New Hampshire took first place and the tie for second, Bridgeport's' freshman Lauren Ramirez (Gilbert, Ariz.) and junior Delaney Cahill (Medford Lakes, N.J.) rounded out the balance beam with a fourth and fifth place finish. Ramirez scored a 9.725 while Cahill received a 9.650.
On the floor exercise, Reimers took second with a score of 9.875. Freshman Gabrielle Kistner (Raleigh, N.C.) took third overall recording a season-high score of 9.850.

Up next, the UB women's gymnastics team will travel to Maryland on Sunday to compete in a quad-meet with Cornell and Southern Connecticut State University. The meet is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
