Danbury, Conn.-For the second consecutive week, two members of the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team have earned weekly Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Women's Gymnastics Athletes of the Week Awards for their outstanding performance in meets that took place during the week of January 20 through February 5, 2017.
Senior Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) has been named the ECAC Division II Specialist of the Week for the second straight seven-day span, and freshman Nina Whittaker (Salem, N.H.) earned her second ECAC Division II Rookie of the Week honor of the season after earlier winning the award on January 17.

Her beam score was good for first place, while she tied on floor with teammate, freshman Maya Reimers.
Whittaker scored a personal-best 9.8 on the vault in Bridgeport's win over Southern Connecticut State, finishing second in the event to teammate, senior Kimberly Stewart.
This weekend, the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team will travel to Cornell University for a quad-meet on Saturday afternoon.
