Gymnastics Team Closes Out 2016 Campaign With Strong Showing In USAG Individual Event Finals
Christine Liautaud Wins On Bars And Randi Cutolo Takes First In The Floor Exercise
St. Charles, Mo.-The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team closed out its 2016 season with several standout performances in Sunday's USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championship Individual Event Finals hosted by Lindenwood University, just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
On the bars, junior Christine Liautaud (Cary, Illinois) won the event with a score of 9.8500, and classmate Randi Cutolo (S. Jordan, Utah) tied first place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.9000.
Also on the bars, UB freshman Maritza Futch (Atlanta, Ga.) tied for fourth place (9.8000), and in the floor exercise, juniors Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) finished in a third place tie (9.8750) and Ajiea Hargrave (Allentown, Pa.) tied for eighth place (9.8250).
Comport also finished in a fourth place tie on the beam with a score of 9.8250.
Junior Kimberly Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) took second place in Sunday's vault competition with a score of 9.8375.
