UB Women's Gymnastics Takes Second Place For Second Straight Year In USAG Women's Collegiate National Team Finals
Purple Knights Post Season-High Team Score Of 195.800 But Fall Just Short Of Host Lindenwood's 195.875
St. Charles, Mo.-For the second straight day, the University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team posted a season-high team score, but it was not quite enough on Saturday evening, as for the second consecutive year, the Purple Knights finished second to the Lindenwood University Lions in the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Team Finals. UB posted a score of 195.800 just behind the host Lions' 195.875. Seattle Pacific took third place with a score of 194.875, and Brown finished in fourth place at 194.500.
UB totaled 48.850 on the vault, 48.600 on the bars, 49.300 on the balance beam and 49.150 in the floor exercise for its total score of 195.800. Lindenwood scored 49.175 on the vault, 48.675 on the bars, 48.875 on the beam and 49.150 in the floor exercise to total 195.875.
Highlighting the UB performance on Saturday night were junior Brianna Comport (Gilbertsville, Pa.) posting the top score in the floor exercise at 9.950, and classmate Hope Tralli (Croton-On-Hudson, N.Y.) posted personal bests of 9.850 on the beam and the vault.
The Purple Knights will wrap up their 2016 on Sunday afternoon in the USAG Individual Event Finals.
